It is important for you to arrive for your appointment on time, and if you are unable to make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.
Telephone Consultations
We request that you make calls requesting medical advice when the office is open, and our staff have access to your child’s medical records. However, if an urgent problem arises and you cannot wait for the office to open, you may call our on-call service. We ask that you utilize this service only for serious concerns.
Having a Baby
Expectant mothers in the Cayman Islands can rest assured that they will receive top-notch care when it comes to the health and well-being of their newborns. Dr. Smith, who is a trusted Pediatrician (Paediatrican) will emphasize the importance of keeping the baby inside the mother until 37 weeks, as this is the best incubator for the baby’s development. He also reassures mothers that newborns are expected to cry within seconds of delivery.
However, the first five minutes of a newborn’s life are crucial, which is why a pediatrician (paediatrician) will always be present during C-sections, ventouse deliveries, twins, and all high-risk scenarios. Dr. Smith is available 24/7 to look after your newborn. The office is conveniently located within walking distance of the hospital, which means Dr. Smith can be present in just 60 seconds should an emergency arise.
Expectant mothers are encouraged to schedule an appointment to meet the team and have a chat with the doctor who will be taking care of their baby after delivery. Dr. Smith is passionate about providing exceptional care to all of his patients, and he will work closely with expectant mothers to ensure the health and safety of their newborns.
Insurance & Payments
The Children’s Clinic Cayman is a “fee for service” practice, which means that payment is required at the end of each visit. After your child’s appointment, you will receive an encounter form to take to the cashier. The total charge will be based on the services provided during the visit.
We have contracts with several insurance companies and once your deductible (if you have one) has been met, we will accept a co-pay and submit a claim on your behalf.
We accept payment through Visa/Mastercard, Debit card or Cash. Payment is expected from the parent who accompanies the child to the appointment. If the absent parent is responsible for the payment, we must ask for payment from you and allow you to make arrangements with the responsible party.
